BADMINTON player Goh Liu Ying (pic) is apparently setting her sights on the silver screen.
Sin Chew Daily reported that Goh, who won a silver medal at the Rio Olympic Games in 2016 as a doubles player, is aspiring to be an actress.

“If there is a chance, I wish to act in a badminton or sports-related drama,” said Goh, 33.

She had earlier made a special appearance in a drama titled Rally For Love, a joint-production between Malaysia and Taiwan.

Recently, Goh made her debut in singing by participating in the recording of a Chinese New Year song Happy Together with fellow Malaysian singers Jeryl Lee, Fuying and Sam.

Goh said she only came to know that she needed to dance when recording the music video.

“So, I learned at the last minute and kept practising the dance steps after my make-up,” she added.

Goh and her partner Chan Peng Soon were previously among the top 10 mixed doubles players in the world.

Their biggest success came in 2016 during the Rio Olympics.

Two months ago, Goh confirmed that she is hanging up her racquet after the Malaysian Open, which takes place from Jan 10-15.
