AS the Lunar New Year approaches, families prepare for fun-filled feasting amidst cheerful wishes for good health, wealth and prosperity. Just step into any CB&TL store to enjoy the Golden Fortune cake (RM12.95 per slice; RM129.30 for a whole cake), a harmonious symphony of East and West with salted egg, hazelnut, black sesame and white chocolate; or an Orangeberry Scone (RM6.90 per piece; RM12.20 with Today’s Brew or Hot Tea) with cranberries and orange pulp for a tangy treat that’s perfectly in keeping with the traditional flavours of the season.
There’s also lots to celebrate for chocolate and coffee lovers, with two layered cakes to choose from, namely the Caffè Nocciola (RM12.95 per slice; RM129.30 for a whole cake), a Sicilian medley of coffee, hazelnut and chocolate; and il Cioccolato (RM13.95 per slice), an indulgent dessert of chocolate and almonds.
Pair these treats with a selection of beverages such as the new Ancient Red China (RM12.50 a pot in-store or RM55 for 20 teabags to be enjoyed at home), a whole leaf black tea infused with sweet floral and chocolate notes to complement the flavours of the season, or the new Tiramisu flavoured beverages, an intense concoction of chocolate, espresso, dark chocolate and cocoa powder; available as a hot or iced latte (small RM15.95, regular RM17.45) or Ice Blended® (small RM16.50, regular RM18.00).
