ARTBOX the first and largest retrofitted creative market originating from Thailand that celebrates and empowers creative retail and food and beverage concepts is coming to Malaysia for the very first time from 9 -11 November and 16-18 November at Sunway City Outdoor Open Air Carpark.
Presented in the form of a creative container market, Artbox first opened its doors in Makkasan, Bangkok in June 2015. Since then, Artbox has achieved immense success in both Thailand and Singapore with the 2018 edition in Singapore attracting a total of 757,000 visitors over six days.
After an overwhelming response in neighbouring countries, Artbox will now be focus on giving the Malaysian audience an all-inclusive creative market experience. This second overseas installation will infuse a local twist to its impressive array of food and beverages, talented musicians and performers and even some of the most creative art works by street artists.
Artbox Malaysia is a collaborative effort between Invade, the Singaporean events management company that were also responsible for bringing Artbox to Singapore and Ad-nology Group, a Malaysian boutique marketing firm who have over four years of experience in event management and creative execution.
“Our goal was to share the exceptional Artbox experience around the region, and Malaysia seems like the perfect next stop due to its passion for an assortment of delicacies and richness in culture. We are confident that the seamless blend of hip and modern features with distinctive Malaysian novelties will delight the diverse taste and interests of the local consumers,” said Mr. Kent Teo, Chief Executive Officer of Invade (Singapore).
This unique market provides a wide range of offerings by local entrepreneurs and designers that are both affordable and rare. With over 300 vendors that will span across 150,000 square feet, Malaysia’s first edition of this creative market is set to light up Sunway City with vendors that will differ from each weekend, ensuring that guests have a wide selection of captivating options.
This Malaysian edition will feature signature elements of the market, including metal shipping containers and fairy lights strung across 5KM of the vicinity. The striking container layout and creative art installations also provide visitors some of the most Instagram-worthy backdrops. Performances by some of the best up and coming Southeast Asian artists are also set to fill the air with acoustic sounds and a melodious ambience.

Artbox Malaysia is also supported by Sunway Malls, Malaysia’s largest retail group in Malaysia with Sunway City being the key venue partner. This international attraction will attract visitors from different backgrounds and interests from all around the Klang Valley and even neighbouring states to Sunway City, a recognised landmark in the greater Kuala Lumpur area.
